Remedies for Dandruff
A conditioner is to moisturizer the hair after shampooing. All types of hair require conditioning to keep it shiny and flexible. Conditioning is especially useful for dry hair. It adds to the natural oil supplement to the dry hair. For oily hair, conditioner should be used only at the ends of the hair. Conditioner should be applied to the hair after shampooing for around 5 minutes and then rinsed thoroughly.

Remedies for Dandruff
- The scalp should be massaged with pure coconut oil, which not only reduces dandruff but also help for growth of hair. This coconut oil can be boiled with small onions for better results. The hair can be washed off with a mixture of green gram powder and water drained from boiled rice.
- Another way of avoiding dandruff is by applying a mixture of almond oil and gooseberry juice or mixture of olive oil, lemon juice and coconut oil with finger tips on the scalp. The hair should be wrapped with a steam -towel- wrap for 15 minutes and then washed away with a delicate shampoo.
- A paste of fenugreek and mustard massaged on the scalp also helps. The mix of shikakai powder with the water from the cooked rice is an ideal wash to get rid of dandruff. The juice of the leaves of five petals of hibiscus flower and washing the hair with this juice is a great remedy as
- Applying castor oil is the best option to maintain a healthy growth of hair. The hair should be washed at least once in a week with tea. Applying besan in the hair and washing it with water drained from the cooked rice is also important.
- A paste made of gooseberry in a cup of milk for two hours and applying it in the hair makes it look healthy and bouncy. The mixture of an egg white with 2 spoons of castor oil, 1 spoon glycerin and applying this paste on the scalp and shampooing the hair after some time makes it healthy and shiny.
- Massaging hair with warm coconut oil before an hour of washing and then covering your head with a hot towel and washing the hair after an hour or so gives immediate effect.
- To control hair loss and thinning, boil a few hibiscus flowers in coconut oil, filter the contents and use this to oil the hair. Do a 'steam-towel-wrap' once in a week. Deep conditioning can be done with curd, beer and egg.
- Mixing a little vinegar in warm water and rinsing the hair with this solution will add bounce to dull, thin and lifeless hair.
- If 1 teaspoon fenugreek is soaked in curd and kept for a night, the mixture is ready to be applied the next morning. However, the mix of coconut oil with the juices of curry leaves, basil, hibiscus flower and gooseberry is also a great pack for thinning hair before a shampoo. Egg white and curd is a great conditioner for lifeless and thin hair.
- The mixture of little Mehandi , an egg, juice of half a lemon, one table spoon of instant coffee powder and its application on the hair for around 45 minutes, before shampooing is a great remedy to check graying hair.
- Boil one cup of dried gooseberry with 4 cups of water with a pinch of sugar in it; it should be boiled until the quantity of the liquid reduces to one cup. 2 cups of Mehendi, an egg, juice of a lemon and the gooseberry solution should be mixed and applied on hair. The hair should be washed after two hours.
- Shampooing the hair means to wash, cleanse and remove all dirt or other impurities from the scalp and hair. The selection of the shampoo is an important thing to keep in mind and it should be done according to the hair type.
- Egg shampoo is good for dry hair but products containing alcohol should be avoided since they will dry the hair even more. Shampoos that contain oils like coconut and other contents which are moisturizing type to coat the hair and trap the moisture inside the hair shaft are the best choices for dry hair.
- For oily hair mild shampoos should be used. Scrubbing the hair after massage should not be done strictly. It is better to rinse the hair thoroughly with Luke warm water. If the hair is still too oily, applying lemon juice in Luke warm water and rinsing helps.
- For thin and lifeless hair, best shampoo is to use those containing panthenol. These shampoos make the hair look voluminous and bouncy. Shampooing can easily be done as often, may be every alternate day to keep the hair clean and healthy.
